Surf, sun and Santa will combine for five magical days this year when Surfers Paradise hosts the country’s most Aussie Christmas celebration.
To be held from December 20–24, Christmas in Surfers Paradise will be the ultimate prelude to the best day of the year as thousands of families flock to the precinct for traditional festivities with an Australian summer twist.
From 10am–1pm and 4–7pm each day, get your family photos with Santa at Cavill Mall and why not stay for a free selfie with the big man himself? Plus enjoy the talented voices of The Salvation Army carollers as they bring their own magic to the streets of Surfers Paradise.
The pinnacle of the week will come on Sunday, December 22 when Surfers Paradise Alliance and presenting partner G:link host Carols on the Beach, the only caroling concert in Queensland to literally be held on the sand.
Hosted by Channel 9’s very own Bruce Paige and featuring an array of musical and dance performances that showcase traditional carols and classic Christmas songs, the concert will be a magnet for locals and tourists as families come together under the stars and alongside the ocean lapping at the shoreline, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display launched from an ocean barge.
