Gold Coast Coronavirus Updates

Keep up to date with closures, cancellations and altered trading hours on the Gold Coast

Since the announcement of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gold Coast businesses have been taking actions to help slow the spread of the virus. You can find out below how local businesses are responding to the outbreak by temporarily closing, adjusting their business hours, or offering safe takeaway options.

Search for specific businesses by pressing Ctrl+F (for Windows) or Command+F (for Mac) on your keyboard. Then simply type the name of the business you want to find.

We will be updating this list as often as possible with the latest announcements.


Latest update 25/03/2020

The government has announced the following facilities will be restricted from opening from midnight local time March 25, 2020:

  • Pubs, clubs, cinemas, nightclubs
  • Indoor sporting venues, community and recreation centre
  • Places of worship
  • Auctions and open houses
  • Beauty therapy and tattoo parlours
  • Amusement parks, arcades and play centre
  • Galleries, museums, libraries and swimming pools
  • Restaurants, cafes and food courts restricted to takeaway and home deliveries
  • Hairdressers and barbers must restrict appointments to 30 minutes
  • Bootcamps and personal training sessions limited to 10 people
  • Weddings, limited to five people, funerals limited to 10 people

ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is now temporarily closed. Their dedicated teams will continue to care for the animals at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary throughout the closure. Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation will remain open to treat wildlife patients.

Dracula’s – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Dracula’s Cabaret will temporarily suspend all performances for two weeks, effective Tuesday, March 17th.

Escape Hunt – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

From Monday 23rd March 12pm, Escape Hunt will close their store as per the new regulations set down by the government.

Fusion Escape Rooms – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Fusion Escape Rooms is now temporarily closed.

Game Over Gold Coast – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Game Over has now temporarily closed following the most recent government announcement. If you have a booking a staff member will call you in the coming days.

Gold Coast Helitours – TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED

Due to recent government restrictions, Gold Coast Helitours services have been temporarily restricted to aerial work and charters such as aerial photography & surveys, charter work including transportation to and from places, sky crane operations, airport transfers, etc.

iFLY Indoor Skydiving –  TEMPORARILY CLOSED

iFLY is now temporarily closed. If you have an upcoming reservation, the team at iFLY will be in touch with you shortly to discuss rescheduling your experience. They will continue to update the following website here: bit.ly/iflycovidupdates as well as social pages with any news regarding their reopening.

INFINITY – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Infinity Attraction is now temporarily closed.

King Tutt’s Putt Putt – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

In accordance with the most recent Government announcement regarding business closure, King Tutt’s Putt Putt have closed their doors until further notice.

Level Up Arcade – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Level Up Arcade is currently closed due to Government restrictions.

Padlock’d Escape Rooms – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Padlock’s Escape Rooms is now temporarily closed. Order some board games from Padlock’d Surfers Paradise and support local businesses who have had too close. Either pick up or have them delivered. They will hopefully keep you entertained for a while!

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Effective Thursday, March 19th, Ripley’s will close to the public to ensure the safety and well-being of their team members and guests.

Scenic Day Tours – OPEN

They are still open for business. Nature is more beautiful than ever, explore the rainforest and see the city from a far.

SkyPoint Observation Deck and Climb – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Following the government ban on all entertainment venues and licensed restaurants, SkyPoint Observation Deck and Climb will temporarily cease operating from midday, Monday the 23rd March 2020.

Sling Shot – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Sling Shot is temporarily closed due to the imposed government laws and regulations.

Surfers Paradise Mini Golf – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Surfers Paradise Mini Golf is temporarily closed due to the imposed government laws and regulations.

The Wax Museum – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The Gold Coast Wax Museum is temporally closed, in line with the Government Advice, due to the Coronavirus.

Timezone –  TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Due to the imposed government laws and regulations, Timezone venues nationally will be pausing the fun until further notice.

Tropical Fruit World – OPEN

Tropical Fruit World has temporarily closed its non-essential activities. They will not be running tour activities, fruit tastings or in-house dining experience.

They will be providing the following essential services for the Gold Coast community:

Carrara Markets has temporarily closed all market stalls that are considered non-essential.

The farmers and growers in the fresh produce section of the markets will open on Saturday and Sunday from 7am to noon as an essential service to the community.

They will continue to play a role in ensuring Gold Coasters have access to essential products such as fruits, vegetables, deli products, bakery goods, etc.

Pacific Fair – OPEN

Pacific Fair Shopping Centre is open and trading regular hours as they continue to provide essential products and services to the community.

Gold Coast SUNS v Port Adelaide – LIVESTREAM ONLY

Round 1 of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season will be live and broadcasted on TV on the 21st of March at 6:40pm. No attendance permitted, but you can still watch the match in self-isolation and support the team on social media using #ChallangeAccepted.
