Athlete Welcome Home

It’s time to give our Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games athletes a Gold Coast welcome home!

Kick off your weekend by cheering on our Queensland athletes on Saturday 10 September.

City of Gold Coast is proudly hosting the official celebration with Mayor Tom Tate leading the homecoming at one of the Coast’s most iconic locations, Burleigh Beach.

The ceremony will take place on the beach across from Burleigh SLSC between 8.30am to 9.30am, followed by a FREE sausage sizzle at Mowbray Park until 10.30am, where you will be able to mingle with the athletes, take photos and ask for autographs.
