Are you a dog owner living on the Gold Coast? Then you and your pup will love these dog-friendly locations! Browse through this list of our favourite dog areas on the Gold Coast.
OFF–LEASH DOG BEACHES
You can walk your dog on most beaches, however, you must keep them on a leash and 200m away from flagged areas. Remember to clean up after your dog as fines apply. Below are the six off-leash dog exercise areas covering almost five kilometres of pristine beaches and foreshores.
1. Paradise Point Foreshore
The off-leash dog area is located on the foreshore, adjacent to Paradise Point Parklands (between northern platform and The Sovereign Mile bridge).

2. Biggera Waters Foreshore
Located on the foreshore, adjacent to Quota Park. Access to the area is permitted from 5am – 8am and 4pm – 7pm daily.

3. The Spit
The Spit is another great location on the Gold Coast. You will get the opportunity to take some cool snaps of your dog with the city in the background! A lot of parking spaces are available.

4. Labrador Foreshore
The off-leash dog area is located adjacent to Len Fox Park.

5. Tallebudgera Beach
Tallebudgera Beach is a very popular dog beach on the Gold Coast, with plenty of pups running around and jumping in the ocean.

6. Palm Beach
The off-leash area is located south of lifeguard tower 13 to Currumbin Creek entrance (as indicated by signs).

OFF–LEASH DOG PARKS
1. Gold Coast Botanic Gardens
The Gold Coast Botanic Gardens is a great place for parents with small children and dog owners. Take a stroll around the park to admire the beautiful Australian flora along flat walking tracks, or head directly to the dedicated dog zone.

Dog swimming area: Yes. A lot of dogs enjoy a dip in the Nerang River.
Fenced: No
Nearby Café: Grab a coffee from Coffee @ The Gardens, only a short walk from the dogs’ area.
2. Tallebudgera Off Leash Agility Dog Island
If you feel uncomfortable letting your dog off the leash in an unfenced area, then Tallebudgeera’s Dog Island could be a great option for you. There is no fence but the island is surrounded by water, giving your dog the feeling of freedom without having to worry that he will run away!

3. Schusters Park, Tallebudgera
Location: 506 Schusters Road, Tallebudgera QLD 4228. Download a map of the park.

4. Musgrave Park, Southport
Location: 120 Musgrave Ave, Southport QLD 4215. Download a map of the park.

Dog swimming area: There are two small ponds where dogs can swim, however, it can get a little muddy.

5. Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes
Frascott Park is divided into two sections: one for bigger and one for smaller dogs. This is a great park for your dog to socialise knowing there won’t be a fight!
